Xmas shopping.

Posted December 05, 2008 05:18pm

It was Friday afternoon 3pm, as I finished seeing clients for the day, I heard a female voice gently tell me I had to go up to the shops and start my Xmas shopping. At first i figured it was one of my guides just helping me return to the real world and get on with practicalities. I was tired after a long week and felt it might be silly to go at a time of day which would mean the shops would be a little crowded for me. The little voice which I now recognised as belonging fairy / elemental guide insisted. I thought maybe they were pushing me out the door before Xmas shopping got too frenetic for my liking, so I went.

Fifteen minutes later I was wandering along the childrens book section looking for gifts for my niece and some of the other youngsters i had on my xmas list. I noticed that as I reached up for some beautifuly illustrated books that a little girl who had been looking through some picture books whilst sitting on the floor was being shouted at by her mom for not hurrying up. I could not work out where her mum was, but she sounded really tired and cranky. The girl looked up at me with anxiety. I got the impression she really wanted to take home a book but the one in her hand was not what she was looking for. I reached up and pulled down a beutiful book called Fairytopia and handed it to her. "Swap you" I said. Her eyes opened up wide, followed by her mouth, as she took the book and started to leaf through it. She pointed out all the pictures of the fairies she said she had in her garden to me. Only her fairies had different clothes at her house. "Cool" I said, "not many people can see fairies or hear them so you are pretty lucky".

Her mum was now getting quite irrate I could tell from the tone of her next command. From somewhere else in the store, came her voice; "you better hurry up and come back here if you want Santa not to forget about you". An interesting thing to tell a child I thought. Since I know I am far from being perfect as a parent, I thought to myself, I hope it works for them.

The little girl this time got off the floor and said; "well you had better have it back now" a little sadly, whilst looking ready to leave. I replied, "you know I would like to see you have this book I have one at home just like it, so you keep it". She looked surprised but happy for just for an instant before she ran off back to her mom with the book.

Over the next 20 minutes as I flicked through books for some of the adults who would might enjoy them, I overheard her mum tell the girl that Santa was getting her lots of stuff much better than books. I felt a little guilty as the little girl repeated to her mum, over and over, that a lady had given her the book. I smiled as I remmembered how literally my children interpreted my communication at her age.

I was just wondering if I should just go and buy her a copy and hand it to her, when her mum said "Ok, if you really want it, you can keep it". Phew I thought with relief.

Ten minutes later whilst standing on a que to pay for some bread, a young Dad ahead of me had his baby begin to vomit all over him and the floor. He turned around and simply handed me the kid with a "I will be back in a minute". The child looked about 18 months and was extremely warm and flushed in the cheeks. So I held him gently for a couple of minutes till his Dad came back with some clean wipes and proceeded to clean baby. I noticed an elemental spirit which had helped me previously during healings, hover around the baby, begin to regulate his temperature for me. The Dad thanked me briefly and left in a hurry.

Okay I thought, seems that the elementals who have been helping me create the latest range of essences, just wanted me out this afternoon, so I could help them, help out a few kids. Alright I thought; can I go home now? On my way to the car I overheard a little girl tell a goup of mums and other 5 year olds how she had seen REAL elves at the park yesturday, only to have her mum immediately offer that; "she (meaning the little girl) was not sure about that". I felt a sadness for the girl.

Not everyone has a strong affinity to the elementals, but for those who do, I wish parents would trust them more so they would not learn to ignore that part of themselves. Even if elemental spirits did not exist why not let a child excecise their imagination. Logical reasoning is only one avenue to problem solving, the other valid route has always been creative imagination. Why quash it ?
